Fabrics for Mei Tai body and straps

Keep in mind that some of these fabrics come in different weights.  You want something that is pretty substantial.

Twill

Pros: soft, pliable, yet strong, can be dressed up since it's a smooth-textured fabric

Cons: wrinkles easily and straps bunch up; doesn't hold its shape as well

Denim

Pros: soft, strong

Cons: darker colors fade, making it more casual

Canvas and duck

Pros: strong, softens up nicely after pre-wash, stiffer so holds its shape well.

Cons: rougher texture

Corduroy

Pros: soft, strong, warm

Cons: may be too warm, fabric has lots of friction so may be harder to tie and untie
